NATURE IN ALL ITS GLORY

Often mentioned as the Hawai of europe, Azores island, the stunning and “secret” Portuguese islands are for sure some of the most beautiful in the world. The Azores are nature at its best. Exploring Flores Island, a true world treasure, is almost like a trip to the Jurassic era, where cascades of dozens of meters appear in between the green mountains and canyons. São Miguel, the largest island in the archipelago, has lagoons and craters designed by the force of volcanoes. Endowed with a rich flora and surrounded by such a one of a kind blue sea, it is an island with innumerable and unique magical corners. Another of the great moments of this trip is the visit to Caldeirão do Corvo, which for me is the most beautiful place in Portugal. It is grand, imposing and unexplainable for nature lovers… do we take you to feel this?

DAY 1 | FLORES

Welcome to the Azores, welcome to the beautiful island of Flores! After arriving at the airport you will have a private transfer waiting for you to the village where we will “live” for the next 3 days. After settling in your home, you’ll have time to meet the group’s travelers and take a short walk through the village surrounded by a beauty that will leave you amazed. We had dinner at the restaurant and the rest of the night was free to rest because tomorrow the adventure begins.

DAY 2 | FLORES – CORVO – FLORES

We start the day with a boat trip to the island of Corvo, it takes approximately 40 minutes. Then we will have a transfer to the impressive Caldeirão do Corvo where you will have time to enjoy this magnificent place with breathtaking landscapes. After a short walk, we have lunch in a lunch box surrounded by nature. We return by boat and with luck you will see whales and dolphins. Before docking, we will sail along the rugged coast of the island of Flores to get a different perspective, you will see huge caves and waterfalls falling into the emerald blue sea. We will still have time to take a dip in the natural pools. We return by transfer to the hotel, have dinner and rest. NOTE: Unfortunately the weather is unpredictable, the boat trip to Corvo Island can only take place if there are weather and sea conditions for it. If the trip cannot be carried out, the value of the trip will be refunded to the traveler.

DAY 3 | FLORES

Today is the day to explore the wonders of Flores Island. We will visit some of the most beautiful places, including Alagoinha, Poço do Bacalhau, Lagoa Funda and Comprida, etc … it will be a guided walk tour through the nature with moments of rest to absorb the beauty of the island and its clean air. Lunch will be a picnic. In the evening we return to the hotel and have dinner. Free night.

DAY 4 | FLORES – SÃO MIGUEL

Today we catch a plane again and return to São Miguel Island, because there is still a lot to explore. After landing we take a private transfer to the Furnas area where we will be staying for the next few days. Once arriving at the hotel, you can put on your bathing suit and get into the warm pools / spas of one of the most beautiful gardens in Portugal, Parque Terra Nostra. Rest of the day is free to enjoy as you wish … If you want you can spend the night swimming in the park’s pools with exclusive access for hotel guests.

DAY 5 | SÃO MIGUEL

After breakfast we take a private transfer and make a brief stop at the Gorreana tea plantations to learn more about its history and be able to take some photos in this amazing landscape. Take the opportunity and have a cup of tea to calm down because you must be nervous about the next activity, Canyoning in Ribeira dos Caldeirões. It will be half a day of adventure down the river, jumping waterfalls, swimming and going through incredible places. Anyone who doesn’t want to do Canyoning can take a hike through the forest. We have a picnic and continue to the Salto do Cabrito waterfall, one of the most beautiful on the island. Then we will visit the unique Caldeira Velha park where you can bathe in its hot water pools. We continue to Lagoa do Fogo, which for many is considered the most beautiful of the archipelago. We return to the hotel. Today we are going to have a beautiful Furnas stew and free night!

DAY 6 | SÃO MIGUEL

After breakfast we go on jeeps to visit the quiet area of the Northeast. Where, in addition to a picturesque village, we will pass by viewpoints with extraordinary views, such as Ponta do Sossego. After lunch we will take a walk through the forest to discover another waterfall, Salto do Prego. In the evening, if we have time, we will go for a swim at Ribeira Quente beach, Quente means hot, so the name says it all, you can count on hot sea water 🙂 We return to the hotel, put on a cute outfit and head to the group’s last dinner. Free night to eat a Furnas stew and have fun.

DAY 7 | SÃO MIGUEL

Today we have an early morning and set off towards the beautiful lagoon of the 7 cities. We’ll go in style, by Buggy 4X4 (the buggy’s take 4 travelers each and those with a driving license will be able to drive) through the hills full of cows and forest. We guarantee that it will be a long and unforgettable day with a lot of adrenaline and laughter. After having picnic and doing he visit to the lagoon, we will see some points of interest, such as the Vista do Rei and the Grota do Inferno viewpoints and the Canary lagoon. We will end the day by diving in the natural pool of Ponta da Ferraria to take the face dust and probably some mud and manure, eheheh! We said it was going to be an adventure! We return to the hotel, free night to have fun.

DAY 8 | SÃO MIGUEL

After breakfast, make the most of the last hours to rest or explore Ponta Delgada, buy a typical cheese or pineapple liqueur. At the scheduled time we catch a private transfer to the airport to fly to our destination.

EXTRA ACTIVITY

In order to make the trip more accessible to everyone, certain activities are optional and not included in the tour price. These activities are pre-arranged and those who want to join any of them can book them from the moment they join the tour. On the free days, each person is free to do what they want: go for a walk on their own, rest at the hotel or do these activities.

Extra Activities must be booked and paid for up to 2 months before the tour. They cannot be booked or canceled after that date. The Tour Leader may not accompany the extra activities, but those registered will always be accompanied by the person responsible for the activity that will pick you up and bring you to the hotel.

Is this trip for me?

This trip is for people who like to have fun and make friends, regardless of their age. We are sure that if you come with a relaxed mindset, you’ll have an unforgettable couple of weeks. It is important to understand that this is an adventure trip, and as such, there is always an element of the unexpected. Traveling in Indonesia is not like staying at the Four Seasons in Paris… a lot can happen, from coming across different animals to getting a weak or no internet connection, the air conditioning breaking, the shower having lower water pressure and temperature than the one in your house, the food not being as good as your mother’s, etc… But it’s good that things are different, otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth it to leave home. Also, good weather is unfortunately not a guarantee, as sometimes it can rain, the sea can get rough, and it is important that you know that there may be changes in the itinerary. What kind of a trip would it be without some adventure?!

If you invite a friend to come on the tour, it is essential that you pass them this information. We just don’t want a cranky traveler who has been “dragged” by friends, whose mood can affect the group’s fun and relaxed atmosphere.

What kind of rooms are we staying in?

We will be staying in double rooms. If you are traveling alone, you will be paired with another traveler of the same gender. In some rare cases, you may need to share a triple room. If you are traveling as a couple, you’ll get your own private room. The 3 nights on the boat will also be in a double (or triple) room.

What if I want a single room?

If you want a single room, it may be possible, but you will have to pay an extra fee. Contact us for more information.

When should I book my flight?

You should book your flight only after making the payment of the tour and receiving the confirmation that your reservation with LEVA-ME is completed. Once we send you a confirmation email, you can book your flight. (This will only happen after a minimum number of participants has signed up, when we contact the travelers signed up to tell them that they can buy the international flight from that moment on).

Can I go alone?

Of course, most of our travelers sign up individually. It is a trip in which you will meet new people and make friends.

Who will I share my journey with?

You’ll spend the trip with one of the LEVA-ME tour leader. You’ll also spend the trip with other travelers who have many things in common with you, like the passion for traveling, for adventure, for discovery … and who are looking for new emotions and unforgettable moments on this trip. We normally have travelers from anywhere between 20 to 70 years old and we can assure you that the atmosphere is very fun and that you’ll end the trip with a new group of friends.

Is the group of travelers flying together?

No, there are travelers coming from different parts of the world, so the group meeting point will be at the airport or hotel in Reykjavik.

How do we meet in Bali?

LEVA-ME will gather the data and flight schedules of all the travelers. There is only one transfer from the airport in Reykjavik to the hotel. If you arrive at the same time or before the majority of the people in the group, you can wait at the airport and we will all take the airport transfer together. If you arrive later in Reykjavik, you’ll have to go on your own to the hotel. All the information will be given when we contact you to let you know that you can book your international flight.

I do not have a flight for the day when the tour starts. Can I go earlier?

Of course, but you will be on your own until we meet in the hotel.

Is there an age requirement?

You must be 18 years old or older. If you are 16 or 17, you can come but must be accompanied by a parent. The price is the same as an adult.

Do I need to take any specific equipment?

No, no special equipment is necessary, just bring comfortable and warm clothes and shoes.

Will I have any time for myself?

Of course! We hate tours that book every minute of your day. Our tour will be busy, but there will also be plenty of time to go exploring on your own!

What about visas?

Portuguese people don’t need a Visa, please contact us if you have questions.

Health and Vaccines?

We recommend travelers to consult with a clinic of Travel Medicine or talk to your doctor 4-8 weeks before departure.

Dangers?

Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world. The only danger is the weather, it can changes rapidly.

How many spots can I book at once for the tour?

As many as you want. The maximum number of travelers is 24.

Can I save spots?

No, spots are only effectively reserved after payment.
