Arrive in Vientiane and receive assistance from our LEVA-ME travel leader and a local guide. Private transfer from the airport to a luxurious 4-star hotel. After check-in, enjoy free time until the evening. Gather with the group and group leaders for a brief introduction to the trip and Q&A session. Night at leisure.

DAY 2 | VIENTIANE – VANG VIENG

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel. Explore some of the essential landmarks in Vientiane, a capital city with a unique serene and charming atmosphere adorned with temples and beautiful gardens. After lunch, head north, passing picturesque villages and breathtaking landscapes to reach Vang Vieng. Nestled on the banks of the Nam Song River and surrounded by limestone hills, Vang Vieng is a favorite destination for adventurous travelers in Asia. Check-in at a luxurious 5-star hotel.

DAY 3 | VANG VIENG ADVENTURE

After breakfast, we set out for an adventure. The impressive limestone mountains that rise above Vang Vieng are home to caves of all sizes and varieties, waiting to be explored. Spend a full day hiking through the countryside. Visit Tham Chang, a cave known for sheltering villagers during the Chinese Haw invasion in the 19th century and again during the Lao civil war, and Tham Hoi, which winds deep into the mountain.

We will stop for lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to enjoy at your leisure and explore Vang Vieng.

DAY 4 | VANG VIENG – LUANG PRABANG

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. We leave the city of Vang Vieng by train, heading north to Laos. We arrive in Luang Prabang in the early afternoon, and you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore this new and fascinating city.

DAY 5 | LUANG PRABANG

Today, we will explore one of Luang Prabang’s most picturesque sites, the impressive Kuang Si Falls, with their vibrant turquoise waters. Embark on a one-hour journey south of Luang Prabang, with stops at the vibrant Phousi Market and the nearby Ock Pop Tock Weaving Centre, a social enterprise primarily focused on textiles, handicrafts, and design. Continue to the waterfalls and enjoy a peaceful walk through the natural park. You can swim in the refreshing waters, although they can be quite chilly.

After lunch, we continue to the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan (Khan River) in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO-protected area where you’ll find a beautiful blend of ancient golden temples, saffron-clad monks, faded Indochinese villas, and a tranquil riverside landscape. Take a guided half-day walking tour to explore some of the highlights of this incredibly picturesque city. Start with a visit to the Royal Palace, now a National Museum housing precious artifacts that once belonged to the Royal Family. We will also visit other famous temples in Luang Prabang, including Wat That Luang, traditionally the cremation site of Lao royalty; the stunning Wat Mai, with its detailed golden reliefs depicting scenes of village life; and Wat Xieng Thong, built in the 17th century. Note the impressive “tree of life” mosaic on the western exterior wall. Finish the visit by climbing to the top of Mount Phousi to admire panoramic views over the Mekong and Khan rivers, as well as the surrounding mountain range. Return to your hotel.

DAY 6 | LUANG PRABANG LOCAL EXPERIENCE

Enjoy a half-day cruise to the famous Pak Ou Caves.

Board a traditional speedboat and begin your journey, passing by typical Lao villages barely visible behind dense vegetation, wooden canoes swaying on the shore, tied to bamboo poles, and floats marking the location of fishing nets and traps. Located along the mighty Mekong, opposite the confluence of the Mekong Rivers, explore the two limestone caves housing around 4,000 sacred Buddha statues and images, ranging from a few centimeters to 2 meters in height. Return to Luang Prabang by boat or private vehicle.

Lunch is included in a beautiful local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you have free time or an optional activity:

THE RICE FARMING EXPERIENCE (PRIVATE TRANSFER, PRIVATE TOUR)
Spend a pleasant half-day at a community rice farm, located in an idyllic countryside surrounded by mountains and rice fields. Experience the life of a farmer by participating in some farm activities. Everyone can join in, and there are great photo opportunities. Alternatively, you can observe farm life comfortably from the balcony of a traditional Lao rice house, surrounded by rice terraces and an organic garden. During the experience, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn about bamboo weaving, blacksmithing, and sugarcane processing. Afterwards, visit the organic garden and discover how natural herbs are used in traditional medicine.

DAY 7 | LUANG PRABANG – SIEM REAP (CAMBODIA)

Breakfast and check-out. Today we change countries, heading to mystical Cambodia. After the flight to Siem Reap, we will take a private transfer to our hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.

DAY 8 | SIEM REAP

This morning, we leave the hotel and visit Kampong Phluk, a village built on stilts on the largest lake in Southeast Asia, Tonle Sap. Take a boat tour around the village and discover how the local fishing communities live, work, and trade. Then, board a local wooden boat that will take us through a flooded forest area, where you will have the opportunity to see wildlife and the flora and fauna in general. We return to the pier for a private transfer back to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day or an optional activity:

MONK BLESSING EXPERIENCE
Located in the heart of Siem Reap, we visit one of the city’s most beautiful pagodas, featuring French colonial architecture and a large garden filled with statues. With candles and incense, participate in a private blessing ceremony conducted by local monks residing in the temple. Sit on a mat as the monks chant mantras and sprinkle you with holy water, a traditional practice believed to bring good luck from the gods. Afterwards, a sacred thread will be tied around your wrist for protection and good fortune.

DAY 9 | SIEM REAP

Today will be a special day, as we wake up early to watch the sunrise at the fabulous Angkor Wat (built in the early 12th century). Surrounded by a 190-meter-wide moat, measuring 1.5 kilometers by 1.3 kilometers, it is considered the largest religious building in the world. The temple, which took 30 years to build and employed 300,000 workers, was constructed as the earthly representation of the universe, with its central tower symbolizing Mount Meru, believed by Hindus to be at the center of the universe.

We will also visit the Bayon Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King, which features almost perfectly preserved sculptures. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

We then continue to Ta Prohm, a beautiful temple built in 1186 as a Buddhist temple dedicated to Jayavarman VII’s mother. It is one of Angkor’s gems, covered in fig trees, giving it an eerie and exotic atmosphere. In the late afternoon, we return to our hotel to relax and enjoy the pool.

DAY 10 | SIEM REAP – KOH KOOD (THAILAND)

After breakfast and check-out, we leave Siem Reap early and head towards the Thailand border. We then continue to Laem Sok Port, where we will board a boat to the incredible island of Koh Kood. The bus journey will take around 8 hours, and the boat trip 1 hour, but once you step into Thailand’s crystal-clear waters, you’ll see that it was worth it. The rest of the day is free for you to relax in this paradise.

DAY 11 and 12 | KOH KOOD

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy two days to explore the magnificent Koh Kood Island. You can stay by the hotel beach or rent a scooter to visit other beaches. Although the island isn’t large, it has many treasures to discover.

DAY 13 | KOH KOOD – FLIGHT TO FINAL DESTINATION

Breakfast at the hotel. It’s time to pack up and return to your roots. We’ll take a boat and a van transfer to Trat Airport. From there, you’ll catch your flight back home. Wasn’t it an incredible journey?! Night on board.

To make the trip more accessible to everyone, certain activities are not included in the tour price. This way, during free days, everyone can choose to relax on the beach, by the hotel pool, explore local markets, visit temples, or take part in these extra activities.

Please note that the extra activities must be reserved and paid for up to 2 months before the tour date. Reservations or cancellations will not be accepted after this date. While the tour leader may not accompany the extra activities, there will always be a designated activity coordinator to pick you up from and bring you back to the hotel. Is this trip suitable for me?

This trip is perfect for individuals who enjoy fun and making new friends, regardless of age. If you come with a relaxed spirit, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable week. It’s important to understand that this is an adventure trip, and unexpected situations may arise. While we prioritize quality hotels, please be aware that traveling in Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand is different from staying at the Four Seasons in Paris. You may encounter unique experiences like meeting unfamiliar animals, weak or non-functional internet, faulty air conditioning, or water pressure different from what you’re used to. Nevertheless, these differences make the journey worthwhile. We can’t promise good weather all the time; occasional rain and rough seas are possibilities. Embrace the adventure! If you invite friends to join the tour, make sure they are aware of these aspects, as we want to avoid having any unhappy travelers who were “dragged” into the trip by friends, as it can negatively impact the group’s enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere.

What type of accommodation will we have?

We will stay in double rooms. If you are traveling alone, you’ll share a room with another same-sex traveler (occasionally a triple room or sharing a double bed may be necessary). If you are traveling as a couple or with a friend, you’ll have your own private room.

What if I want a single room?

Adding an additional single room is rarely possible. If you’re interested, please contact us. We’ll inquire with hotels about availability and the price of the single supplement, which is usually quite high.

When should I book my flights?

You should only book your flights after making the tour payment and confirming with LEVA-ME that your reservation is finalized and the trip is confirmed. We will provide recommended flights. For the domestic flight from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap, it’s essential to be on the same flight as the rest of the group to benefit from transfers. Otherwise, you’ll have to arrange your transportation between airports and hotels.

When will LEVA-ME confirm the trip?

We confirm the trip when all conditions for its realization are met, including reaching the minimum number of travelers and finalizing all organization aspects (reservations, transfers, activities, etc.). Generally, confirmation happens several months before the trip, but in exceptional cases, it may be as late as 20 days before the departure date. Once the trip is confirmed, we’ll send an email so you can proceed with flight bookings and provide us with the flight details/times. If the trip is canceled due to reasons beyond LEVA-ME’s control, we’ll refund the amount paid to LEVA-ME, but we are not responsible for flights purchased by the traveler.

Can I sign up alone?

Absolutely! The majority of our travelers join solo. This trip is an opportunity to meet new people and make friends.

Who will I travel with?

First and foremost, you’ll be with the LEVA-ME tour leader throughout the trip. Then, you’ll spend a week with other travelers who share your passion for travel, adventure, and discovery. The age range of our travelers is broad, spanning from 20 to 70 years. Rest assured, the atmosphere is very fun, and you’ll end the trip with a new group of friends.

What about the extra activities?

Please reserve and pay for the extra activities up to 2 months before the tour date. Reservations or cancellations cannot be made after this date. The tour leader may not accompany the extra activities, but each activity will have a coordinator to pick you up from and return you to the hotel.

Do I need travel insurance?

All travelers are required to have travel insurance for the duration of the tour. You can obtain this insurance from any provider and must send us the proof of coverage.

Will the group of travelers be together all the time?

No, as travelers come from various parts of the world, the group meets at the hotel in Bangkok. We will have the flight details and times of all participants. There will be only one transfer from Bangkok airport to the hotel. If you arrive at the same time or earlier than most of the group, you can wait at the airport, and we’ll all go together in the transfer. If you arrive later in Bangkok, you’ll need to make your way to the hotel on your own, either by taxi or metro.

I don’t have a flight on the first day of the tour. Can I arrive earlier or stay a few more days?

Yes, but you are on your own.

Age Requirement?

To join this incredible journey, you must be at least 18 years old. We welcome travelers aged 16 or 17 if accompanied by their parents, and they’ll be treated as adults throughout the trip.

What to Pack?

Do I have time for myself?

Why are not all meals included?

We want you to have the freedom to savor the local cuisine and make your dining choices. Some meals are not included in the package, giving you the flexibility to choose where and what to eat. On average, you can expect to spend around €170 on meals not covered by the tour.

Do I need a Visa?

For Laos, travelers are required to obtain a visa before arrival, which can be applied for through the official website: https://laoevisa.gov.la/index

For Cambodia, a visa can be obtained through the traveler’s application on the official website: https://www.evisa.gov.kh/

No visa is needed for Thailand.

Health and Vaccinations:

Before departure, we recommend consulting a Travel Medicine Clinic or your physician 4 to 8 weeks in advance. Malaria and Dengue are present in all three countries, so take precautions against mosquitoes with long clothing and repellents, especially during dawn, dusk, and evenings. Usually this are the vaccinations they might recommend.

Immunizations:

– Hepatitis A: Recommended for all non-immune travelers.
– Hepatitis B: Recommended for all travelers.
– Typhoid Fever: Recommended for all travelers who plan to consume food outside major hotels and restaurants.
– Yellow Fever: Required for travelers coming from endemic areas like Brazil. Otherwise, no indication.

Safety Measures:

Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand are peaceful and secure destinations for travelers. The locals are known for their warmth and kindness. However, it’s always wise to exercise caution, especially in large cities.
