DAY 1 | VARANASI

Upon arrival at Varanasi airport, your LEVA-ME trip leader will greet you. We'll then take a group transfer to our hotel. The mystical city of Varanasi is located on the west bank of the Ganges River, one of the most famous in the world. There's no more Indian experience than Varanasi. There are no architectural splendors, intricately carved palaces, or forts, yet the city retains its inherent charm. After arriving at the hotel, we'll check in (check-in time is 2:00 PM) and have free time to relax by the pool. Today, we only have an introductory talk and dinner at the hotel.

Accommodation: Hotel 5 *****

DAY 2 | VARANASI

Early this morning, before sunrise, you'll be taken on a visit to the ghats to witness Hindu pilgrims performing their rituals here. Following the centuries-old tradition and belief that dying in Varanasi or bathing one's remains in the sacred Ganges cleanses one's karma and prepares one to incarnate in the next human life. We'll take a boat ride (subject to water levels) on the Ganges River to visit the ghats, stopping at the most important ones. The riverbank, seen from a boat early in the morning, is an extraordinary sight.

In the afternoon, we'll visit other places of interest. In the evening, we'll return to the Ghats on the banks of the Ganges River to witness the illuminated Ganga Aarti ceremony. As the sun begins to set, bathing the river in gold, bells, gongs, and chants fill the air. Offerings of balloons and flowers are made to the river. It's a moving sight to see hundreds of miniature lamps floating along the river. We return to the hotel for dinner.

Eco-friendly electric vans will take us from the bus parking lot to the gates of the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is everything it's been said to be and more. It took 22 years and 20,000 men to build; the white marble was quarried 320 km away and transported to the site by more than 1,000 elephants. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a testament to his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal in the mid-17th century, the Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Next, we'll visit Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula – known as the "Baby Taj" and often considered a draft of the Taj Mahal. After breakfast at the hotel, we continued our journey from Jaipur to Jodhpur, stopping in Pushkar. Pushkar is a small, sacred city for Hindus and is now known for the world's largest annual camel fair. There are many legends about Pushkar's origins. According to one, a lotus slipped from Lord Brahma's hands and fell to the earth. Water gushed forth from the spot where it fell. Thus, Pushkar Lake was created in the middle of the Thar Desert. Pushkar is a sacred place, a must-visit for all Hindus. Over the centuries, it became a temple town, and today there are around 400 temples in Pushkar. We continued our journey to Jodhpur. Jodhpur overlooks the desert and its fort, built atop a rocky hill, which rises right in the middle of the city and dominates the landscape. This trip is for people who love to have fun and make friends, regardless of age. We're sure that if you come with a relaxed mindset, you'll have an unforgettable vacation. It's important to understand that this is an adventure trip, and therefore there are always unexpected events. It's equally important to understand that you'll experience a huge culture shock in India. It's also very common for things to happen: encounters with animals you don't have at home, the internet being weak or not working, the air conditioning being broken, the shower water not having as much pressure or heat as yours, the food not being as good as your mother's, etc. But thankfully, everything is different; if it were the same, there wouldn't be any point in leaving home. Also, unfortunately, we don't promise good weather; sometimes it rains, the seas are rough, and it's important to be aware that there may be changes to the itinerary, but what would a trip be without adventure?! If you invite a friend to come on the tour, it is essential that you inform them of this information. What we don't want is a grumpy traveler who has been "dragged" by their friends, this can ruin the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the group.

Generally all the hotels from LEVA-ME are 5 stars. We will be staying in double/twin rooms. If you are traveling alone, you will share a room with another traveler. of the same sex (it is possible that in some situations you may have to stay in a triple room or share a double bed). If you're traveling as a couple or with a friend, you'll have your own private room.

Contact us for more information. If there's availability at all hotels, we can accommodate an additional room. You'll need to pay the single supplement. Please contact us to find out if this is possible and how much it costs.

You should only purchase your flight after paying for the tour and confirming with LEVA-ME that your reservation is finalized and the tour confirmed.

We confirm the trip when all the necessary conditions are met, including reaching the minimum number of travelers and finalizing all organizational issues (reservations, transfers, activities, etc.). Confirmation usually occurs several months before the trip, but it can take up to 20 days before the date. Once the trip is confirmed, we will send you an email so you can purchase flights and send us the flight details/schedules. If the trip is canceled for reasons beyond LEVA-ME's control, we will refund the amount paid to LEVA-ME, but we are not responsible for the flights purchased by the traveler.

Of course, most of our travelers travel alone. It's a trip to meet new people and make friends.

First of all, you'll be with your LEVA-ME tour leader throughout the trip. Then, you'll spend a week with other travelers who, like you, share a passion for travel, adventure, and discovery... and who are seeking new emotions and unforgettable moments on this trip. Our travelers range in age from 20 to 70. I guarantee the atmosphere is a lot of fun, and you'll end the trip with a new group of friends. Some of you already know each other from previous trips, and now you'll be part of their group too.

No, as there are travelers departing from various parts of the world, the group meeting point is at Varanasi airport or at the hotel.

We'll keep track of all participants' flight details and schedules. There's only one transfer from Varanasi airport to the hotel. If you're traveling on another plane and arrive at the same time or earlier than most of the group, you can wait at the airport, and we'll all be on that transfer together. If you arrive later in Varanasi, you'll have to make your own way to the hotel.

Of course, you can, but you'll be on your own until we meet at the hotel. We don't make reservations for extra nights, but we'll let you know the hotel if necessary so you can book directly.

We confirm your trip when all the necessary conditions are met, including reaching the minimum number of travelers and finalizing all organizational issues (reservations, transfers, activities, etc.). Confirmation usually occurs several months before the trip, but it can take up to 20 days before the date. It's possible that the trip is already confirmed by the time you make your reservation.

If we haven't reached the minimum number of travelers up to 20 days before the trip, we will contact you to inform you that the trip has been canceled.

If LEVA-ME cancels the trip, we will offer three options to registrants: Refund of the amount paid / Possibility of rescheduling / Possibility of using the trip at another destination or keeping it as a credit for future trips. If the traveler cancels, the terms and conditions apply.

First of all, you will be there throughout the trip with the LEVA-ME trip leader. Then you will spend a week with other travelers, just like you have a common taste for travel, for adventure, for discovery… and who seek new emotions and unforgettable moments with this trip. Our travelers range in age from 20 to 70. We guarantee that the atmosphere is great fun and that you will end the trip with a new group of friends.

The vast majority of our groups are Portuguese travelers, but it is common for us to occasionally have travelers of other nationalities.

Since the tour leaders and most travelers are Portuguese speakers, Portuguese will be the preferred language. Our guides and drivers all speak some Portuguese, French, and Spanish. If you have any difficulty understanding, your tour leader can help.

The trip leader is the person who will accompany you throughout your trip, helping you enjoy your destination in a more relaxed manner. It's important to understand that a trip leader isn't a tour guide who will tell you about the history of monuments or cultural details; for this reason, we occasionally have local guides who have studied the country to answer all your questions. The trip leader's goal is to handle all the logistics so you don't have to worry about accommodations, transportation, meals, and activities. At the same time, the trip leader's role is to introduce the group to the country and its culture in general, creating a fun and respectful environment among travelers. They will be a friend who will always be available to help you if you need it.

As passionate about the world, we strive to make our travels as sustainable as possible. Whenever possible, we work with companies and hotels that have a sustainability certificate. We provide our travelers with information on how to be responsible tourists. We strive to work with small businesses and hotels to stimulate the local economy. We avoid practices that negatively impact the population or location we visit, nor do we sell activities that exploit animals.

All travelers are welcome on our trips, but if you have a health problem that limits your physical condition in any way, we recommend that you speak to us before booking so we can advise you or recommend a LEVA-ME trip that we think is more suitable.

Be over 18 years of age. Those over 16 are welcome when accompanied by their parents. The price is the same as for an adult.

No, just bring your clothes, comfortable sneakers, flip-flops and a bikini.

Of course! We don't like trips that have every minute planned out, although this is perhaps the most comprehensive one we have at LEVA-ME. Our trip will be busy, but there will also be time for you to explore on your own!

Yes, all meals are included, except for a few situations on flight days. Vegetarian options are always available, but those with gluten and lactose intolerances will need to manage their meals based on the options.

There are no mandatory vaccinations for entry into India, with the exception of the yellow fever vaccine for passengers arriving from affected areas (which is not the case in Portugal).

India is a relatively safe country to visit! However, there are a few things to keep in mind: Given the country's size and religious and cultural diversity, there is a constant possibility of inter-religious and separatist conflicts in much of the country. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of sexual assaults against women, not only Indian women but also foreign women. Therefore, special caution is recommended when traveling alone.

Pickpockets are common in tourist areas, so you need to be extra careful, especially when you're not in a group and in more isolated areas.

All seats can be reserved.

This happens because the last available seat on the trip is to share a room with another person of the same sex.

Exactly, when a trip is sold out, it's sold out. Unfortunately, we can't add any more people because we don't have any available rooms or transportation. You can always stay on the waiting list, and if anyone cancels, we'll contact you.

No. Seats are only reserved after payment has been made.
